Here are some fun snack ideas that you and your child can make together! Such a fun activity. Did you know children are more likely to try foods that they help create? It is also a great way to talk about measurements and math, and work on those fine motor skills!
NO BAKE PEANUT BUTTER BALLS (& ALLERGEN FREE ALTERNATIVE)
-1/4 cup raisins
-1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
-1 cup rolled oats
-1/4 cup honey
-1/2 cup peanut butter (or sunbutter for an allergen free alternative)
Mix peanut butter and honey, then stir in the rest of the ingredients. Form into balls using a cookie scoop or your hands. Chill in the refrigerator before serving. Store in the refrigerator.
GRAHAM CRACKERS WITH PEANUT BUTTER AND BANANAS
-peanut butter, sun butter, or nutella
Spread your peanut butter or alternative on the graham crackers and place sliced bananas on top. So easy and so delicious!
-grapes (don't forget to cut in half vertically!)
-your favorite jello flavor (you can even do a sour one!)
Wash and slice grapes. Pour jello mix onto a plate or flat container. Coat the grapes in the jello mixture. You can also put the jello mix and grapes into a ziplock and shake them to coat (which sounds way more fun!) Chill in the refrigerator before serving to let the jello set, or put into the freezer for a fun frozen treat!
PEANUT BUTTER CEREAL BITES
-1/2 cup honey
-1/2 cup peanut butter (or alternative)
-4 cups plain cheerios (or another favorite cereal!)
-1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add honey and peanut butter (or alternative) together and microwave for 30 seconds-1 minute. Add vanilla and cheerios. Stir together. Place small mounds onto wax or parchment paper and let harden before eating. YUM!
FISH IN THE RIVER
Cut celery into 3-4 inch pieces. Fill the middles with cream cheese. Add goldfish on top of the cream cheese. DID YOU KNOW?- That even if your child chooses to just eat the goldfish or goldfish and cream cheese off the top of the celery, that they are more likely to try the celery at some point because they have been exposed?
ANTS ON A LOG
-peanut butter (or alternative)
Cut celery into 3-4 inch pieces. Fill the middles with peanut butter, and place the raisins on top. EAT! (The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah!)
